  • Strategy

Society has changed as a result of the digital revolution.

Generation Z are being shaped by increased access to information; nearly constant connections; budget cuts; disaster; tragedy and threats to personal safety; equity and equality; the Gig economy.

  • Technology Characteristics
It is estimated that 88% of this cohort have access to a computer with 78% having their own smart phone and over 35 million tablet users watching more than 3 hours of mobile video a week. This generation form the largest share of wearable tech users.
  • Learning Preferences
This generation has been inundated with video channels, e-learning, webinars and smart boards. They have always had instant access to information, maps, movies, music, shopping as well as their educational material. Technology is not a tool to them; it is an ordinary part of life. They are from the age of Uber, skis, Airbnb, and of course, most daily actions through some form of social media.
  • Mental Health
This has all had an impact on academic performance in physical schools, with 1 in 3 students reporting stress has an impact and many reporting anxiety and depression is impacting their learning.

Wey Education’s entities, InterHigh School and Academy21, have been providing a positive alternative to physical schooling since 2005.

Both have been operating as independent schools on the internet offering young people a fresh relationship with learning, reengaging them with education by delivering flexible and accessible live interactive teaching within positive and inclusive online communities. Now a proven effective schooling provision with a track record of outcomes for thousands of young learners Wey is focused on Wey 2.0 – a strategy for accelerated growth.
